Trican has focused much of its cement R&D efforts on designing high compressive strength lightweight cement blends that are more economical than any other blends in the industry. As a result of this effort, Trican has developed blends that exhibit densities as low as 1,200 kg/m3 (10 lbs/gal) and still meet strength requirements. These lightweight slurries use unique additives that slow the hydration process to allow them to be pumped in deeper wells without affecting strength development up hole at colder temperatures. These blends gain strength quickly, allowing good compressive strength development at low temperatures. This technology is unique to Trican.
Trican also specializes in gas control technology such as patented cement pulsation, multiple particle size low permeability cements, permeability reduction additives and very economical and unique fluid loss control additives. Trican has also developed a line of pre-flushes that can meet and exceed all requirements.
