Coiled Tubing - Engineered Solutions

Coiled Tubing Fracturing

In Coiled Tubing Fracturing, multiple zones are selectively isolated and fractured. Perforating all potential intervals in one rig in, and then selectively stimulating all intervals in one day, reduces the time required to place a well on production. Rather than completing one fracture at a time, all zones are flowed back and cleaned up simultaneously. Not only does selective Coiled Tubing Fracturing significantly reduce the number of sand clean-outs required, but smaller, more frequent treatments will effectively increase gas production and reserves (over 30 fractures per well have been done successfully).

In-House Engineering

Each coiled tubing job is subject to thorough technical analysis by a Trican engineer. Investigation includes force analysis and hydraulic modelling in order to determine, among other parameters, the anticipated limitations of the reach of the coiled tubing and the maximum pump rates achievable for the job. Analysis will also enable the engineer to recommend optimal coiled tubing size (OD, length), as well as any tools or bottomhole assemblies (BHAs) that would improve or assist job results. An engineer is always available to the coiled tubing supervisor on location to trouble shoot issues and recommend the best course of action.
